SunMacs was one of five groups under the umbrella of the Sun City Computer Club by 1989. By 1994 SunMacs had its own meetings several times per week in the Computer Room at the Fairway Rec Center for its membership of 94. A big change came in the summer of 1996 when a room was assigned at Sundial Recreation Center for the exclusive use of SunMacs, and SunMacs became an independent chartered RCSC club. In these early years SunMacs had two classes per day, i.e., ten classes per week, and one night class each week for its members.
The Apple Macintosh Club of Sun City (known as the SunMacs) is open to all Sun City Recreation Card holders. The club offers members opportunities to learn about Macintosh computers and exchange ideas about hardware, software, and new technology.
We are located at Sundial Recreation Center at the corner of Boswell and 103rd Ave.
14801 N 103rd Avenue Sun City AZ 85351-1906
Membership dues $20.00 for a single and $30.00 for a couple residing at the same address.
A general meeting of the entire membership is held once per month on second Sat, at 9:00 AM Oct thru May. See the Apple Core, the clubs online iCal or a Class Schedule for dates and times. There is a short business meeting followed by a program given by an outside guest or a club member.
Our greatest accomplish-ment is that we always have a class that one would enjoy and we are known as the Friendliest Computer Club one could hope for!
"The SunMacs are where they are today because of
many volunteers who have given many hours of their time to organize and provide an interesting program for its members. The club will flourish as long as we have this dedication." Marjorie Simons - 2000
